Approach

Welcome to the McKenzie River Men’s Center (MRMC) Website. The MRMC is a unique place dedicated to helping boys and men lead healthier lives, and reduce violence in our communities, nation and world.

Men as a group have many strengths and make significant contributions to families, their communities and nation. However, men are also struggling with many concerns, loneliness and isolation, lack of a sense of purpose, anxiety and stress, depression, different forms of violence including partner and sexual violence substance abuse. In addition to the issues listed above, men from marginalized communities seek acceptance, justice, and to be heard. Compounding these difficulties, many men are reluctant to seek help. The MRMC promotes the use of traditional and non-traditional approaches to offer services which are congruent with the culture of men and masculinities.

Focusing on men’s health is crucial if we want to create safer communities, workplaces and campuses. If you are contacting this site on behalf of an organization, business, institution, school or university, the MRMC can be of assistance to you by training your staff, management, faculty, administration and students on boys and men’s issues and how to develop programs and services that are congruent with the culture of men.

Feel free to explore our services, materials and visit our resource pages. If you have any questions or comments, please call us at 541.206.8319. We believe you will be glad you did.
